2.1 coming in a couple of days!

Speaking of 2.1

I really like how I have a wallpaper image across my three home pages. I grabbed it from the forum. I wonder how it will look when my Droid upgrades to 2.1.

I understand there will be 5 or 7 pages (I forget) and a tile tool for navigating between them.

This just might lead to a whole flux of new wallpapers and sizings.

Truthfully, I kind of like how mine functions now. And if I need more space I can use folders.
 
The actual quote was not that "we will update" but "I think we will":

Excuse me but I am a little confused. Is there or is there not a Droid update coming this week or in the very near future?
 
Considering the 2.1 source isnt even out yet, i think we've got a little wait till 3.0 comes out. Honestly i'd expect to see some downtime now between Android releases for a few months and then a 2.5 release hitting sometime this summer with a whole slew of features.

Before then we might get a 2.1.1 or something as a interm release for bug fixes.
 
all i can say is I already have 2.1. Sure its not optimized for the Droid but with the pace Android is progressing I will probably have the official update for a week before a new leaked OS or other custom mod makes it onto my phone. I love this platform its like a new phone every month. Keep it coming!

If it works like other home apps with more than 3 screens, then there would be no need to change the size of the wallpaper. What happens is that the background just moves less right/left when you have, say 7 screens than what it does when you have 3 screens... make sense? It is still the same size, regardless of whether you have 3, 5, or 7 screens...
 
I am looking forward to 2.1, whenever we get it.

The Motorola CEO said "I think we will upgrade the Droid to 2.1".. so, it makes me think that perhaps we may get 2.0.1 as a bug fix, and then the 2.1 update after the initial push behind the Nexus One rollout settles down.

Regardless of updates, I love my phone, and I am so happy to have one. After adding apps, and setting up widgets and home screens my way, and then tweaking my settings so the phones does what I want when I want, I have found that it is a great productivity tool...
