Astro> SD Card> Download> z4root's .apk

;)

I downloaded a game, Tiki Towers, as provided by the game developer for people checking out another game, and it came down as the .apk -- I can still see it in my folder.

Now, if you download it from the DroidForums app then it's on the SD card, just in the DF app's folder.

Really? I've always just had Gmail say "Fetching attachment" and take me to the install screen :)
Anyway, kinda off topic! Haha!

This happened to me, what I did was download the apk to a computer, usb the phone as storage device, copy the apk to the phone then unplug the usb. Run the apk and you'll be good to go.

Go to Settings > Applications > Development and enable USB Debugging. Run "Permanent Root" and let it do its thing. Your phone will reboot and you'll then have a new app called Superuser. Welcome to the dark side (rooted)! :)

Really? Z4root should now just say "Re-root" and "Un-root". Try a reboot and see if it changes and let me know. Root apps are all over. You can also go to market and just type "root" in search.
