The worst I've put mine through, is one time I tossed it on the bed from about a foot away. I can't afford to be reckless with such an expensive phone. I use a cruzerlite androidified case on it.

Ha, ha. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the worst I've put mine through as well. Case, screen protector, and tender loving care.

I've dropped mine 3 times from waist high to concrete. Have the VZW shell, and so far, so good.

i keep my maxx naked.
i have dropped it twice. once on polished concrete which resulted in zero damage.
the second time on asphalt which dented a corner.
spilled a little water once which just rolled off.
love this thing.

strong phone. Motorola makes phones so that they last. Why do you think the original RAZR lasted so long. Look at how many people still have the X. They make good phones.
I go naked all day everyday. I have a few little scratches on the face but it doesn't matter. Its a phone, not my neck tie. It has character.

Only mistake I made was let me drunk friend handle it at the bar, he dropped it immediately only a couple inches above the bar though. Luckily I have the Ottorbox Commuter and the Steinheil screen protector, so only damage is a little line on my case. So far other than that she has been babied and safe.

i cracked my screen

i had my maxx sitting on my lap in the car and forgot it was there when i went to step out. the end result was my maxx falling from waist height screen first onto a gravel driveway. put a crack straight across the screen. i do have insurance but cannot really tell it is cracked when the screen is on so im going to keep it untill something else goes wrong. but this phone is still kick @$$ i wouldnt trade it for any other.dancedroid

I drop mine all the time. I'm just clumsy like that. All I have to show for it is a small scratch near the LED. I guess I should prob get a case for it. I've owned a DROID2, DROID x2 and now a Maxx and never cracked a screen. I've been really lucky compared to some.

I keep mine nakey, with the exception of a steinheil screen protector. I bought a case for it from amazon, but I really hate the way it feels with it on so I just leave it off. I don't want to hinder my experience, I bought the phone to use it!
