I've never used backup assistant since all contact info is synced with my Google account. Isn't that one of the pluses of Android?

The time I tried Google contact back-up it only synced like 15 out of 300+ o have both vzw & Google doing backup now. Will check later if Google has improved ...

How can I check from my phone BTW?

yeah, I never setup Backup Assistant.. dont see the point in it since Google handles all my contacts.
i used it on my phones 2 years ago before i got a droid but now on the bionic it automatically syncs with my old backup account... i want to get rid of it since it does the same thing as google and is annoying but not sure how..

Maybe try this. Go to Contacts > options menu > Display options > Google > make sure All Other Contacts is checked as well as System Group: My Contacts. Save and exit. Look again at contacts.
