S4 not unlocking to swipe

Okay, so, a while back, I was strolling through a thrifty neighborhood, so I changed my lock from just a swipe to a pattern. Once I got out of said neighborhood, I tried locking my phone back to swipe protection, but that and the none security option were locked. It said below them as follows. "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage." What happened?

It's a protective feature of security. To fix;

First go to Settings > Security > Device Administrators.
Deactivate all programs there.
then go back to Security and click clear credentials at the bottom of the page.
