Quick reception question

My friend is upgrading from his DX and wants to get a GN. I told him to wait because I know that they have had reception issues and was wondering if these have been fixed with either a firmware update or if the newer phones had improved radios?

There are leaked radios from the latest builds that work well for vzw.

I have the newer radios from the start of May and haven't noticed improvement, but that is just me. Hopefully the official OTA will roll out by the end of May and we'll have a better idea of the problem has been solved.
