T-mobile has recently made some changes in an attempt to be more transparent about true pricing when it comes to your cell phone bill. Carriers in the past have quoted consumers one price and then bill a totally different price which includes taxes and various fees. T-Mobile has announced that the prices they quote on plans going forward will include all taxes and fees so you are not surprised when your bill arrives. In other words they won't nickle and dime you to death like the other carriers. This was great news, but today T-Mobile announced a discount even greater.

Going forward T-Mobile will pay you back at least 11.2% of the total cost of your cell phone purchase. This is to cover the sales tax you had to pay to buy the phone from them. This percentage is actually greater than the sales taxes in most areas so you may actually get a little bit of extra money back. This applies to phones purchased on T-Mobile ONE or Simple Choice. The phone must be purchased through the T-Mobile Equipment Installment Plan. You get your sales tax reimbursement in the form of a pre-paid master card within 8 weeks of your purchase. This deal starts on February 1st.

It's funny that back in the day paying full price for your phone and paying no hidden taxes/fees was generically called "pre pay" and frowned upon by the masses.
