OK - where's my lollipop?

My wife just got the update to Lollipop on her Verizon S5. Where's my S4 update? Any good rumors?

It's carrier dependent.. You will need to wait for your local candy store to push it your way..

I think it has been released in some countries but it is a little slow and carrier specific.

Some users are reporting OTA updates as it comes in two packages. One to make it so it can be updated to Lollipop and the other is Lollipop update itself.

I just recently flashed a stock rooted version of it and it works great. You can just Google it and grab the OTA file itself and manually install it.

I really like the update so far. It makes the s4 feel like a new phone.

It wrecked mine - cannot touch any icon in attempt to move it
w/o causing TouchWiz crash.
I can use the app, but no chance moving it to different Hm screen.
Verizon. - yes it came in 2 loads.

Just noticed Verizon left a text message of offer on new S6 I think
Even up trade, which might happen.

A battery pull may solve the issue, but it's pretty common that these kind of issues arise after a major update. Alot of times the only real remedy is to do an FDR. Although it's a bit extreme, you can narrow down to the app and everything, but in the end you may still be doing an FDR.

Have you tried narrowing down apps or anything? Clean Master?

Got mine (verizon) a couple days back. Came in two updates. Overall liking it so far. Though it's always hard for me to get used to changes in things i am so used to.

That assorted apps tried all work fine,
But don't try to move it.

So I'm assuming it's all Touch Wiz glitch.
Clean Master - doesn't ring a bell, but I'll take a look.

Yea, FDR- I'd have to get into some kind of zen moment
to pull that off smoothly.

So, wifey and I just bought two Galaxy S4's at Best Buy. We're clinging to our "Unlimited Data" plan like a lifeboat! We did the (then) latest software upgrades while still at the store. 4.4.2.. That was last Friday. Her phone had the dreaded "It won't charge" syndrome so we took it back and got it exchanged. Another in-store software upgrade for her.

This morning I take my phone out of Airplane Mode and I get a message saying a new software update is ready. 5.0. So I take the chance and let it upgrade. It goes through the upgrade, shuts down and re-boots. I look to see what's new - and it still says 4.4.2.. I didn't get any error messages saying the upgrade failed, nothing seems to have changed. Has anyone else gotten a 5.0 upgrade for their Galaxy 4?

Or was I having a bad dream?

I know Verizon sent out 2 OTAs in regards to Lollipop. The first update was to make your device eligible to receive and install the second update which was Lollipop.

I'm with Verizon, Dezymond.
I only got the one 'update' this morning, and my wife got NONE. We're both (as I mentioned) still at 4.4.2..
So does this mean I might still get the 5.0 update at some time?

Hmm, just checked the "Check for software updates" and I'm downloading an update now - as I type.

Now I'm hitting "Install now".

Shutting down now. I'll get back to you after I bite all my nails off .
