Hi, new guy here

I joined this forum to so I can find someone who can flash any of my droid phones and get data to work.
I don't really mind if it's edge

I have a droid, droid X, and droid 2

I was hoping you guys can help.

What's your level of technical knowledge regarding computers and cell phones? It's really not that difficult to root and flash a Droid. If you take your time, read all the steps, and do it right, there's no reason that someone that's confident with technology couldn't do it in an afternoon.

Welcome! Good to have you with us. There are a lot of folks here that are very capable of providing support/guidance. I suggest that you go here http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ne...-assistance/116993-new-android-check-out.html and read the links on rooting. Then, read through the hacking section. Make notes and if you have specific questions post them. Finally, if you do decide to move forward the community will be here to assist you.

I know how to get it flashed and texting and calling to work.
But I looking to get it to have data and mm

So I've been asking people I know and posted an ad to pay someone to do it for me.

Only response I got was to just root and flash it partially
The other replies were just unreliable

Data will connect via your phone when you create and activate your Google account. That should have been done when you left the store. Living in or near NYC you should have 3G or 4G.

Receiving data (email, texting, surfing the web) does not require being rooted.

Do you have a Google account activated on your phone? If so, do you have it set to auto sync so that your Gmail will be pushed to your phone?

Using the stock SMS app or a free app such as Handcent or Chomp will allow you to text and exchange multi media. Again, a rooted phone is not required .

Ok I think we're confused.
I was talking about Internet working on another provider, rather then verizon
I wanted metro pcs, but i can't seem to get data and mms working.

But Ive been searching through the forums and discovered page plus, it doesn't offer unlimited Internet, but it's better than nothing.

But if you can find a way I can get metro to allow me to use unlimited Internet that would be great.:blackberry:

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I've read threads that address your issue but I do not recall the process. I do recall that it is doable.

I searched "PCS Metro" and found this Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum - Search Results Go to page 2 there are two threads. There may be more but I did not look.
