need help making a call

When I'm outside it's hard enough to dial and see a number let alone having to do it twice on this phone.Is there a way I can only have to tap my phone once to make a call.Even in favorites it's the same.
Sometime it take's up to four taps just to make a call.
Phone,contacts,pick the contact,then hit the little green icon.
So is there a way or program I can use.

Yes. Go to a home screen, long press, tap shortcut, tap direct dial, this opens your contacts. Locate the one you want and press. You can do this for as many as you have space for.
