N00B question about the ICS leak.

I want to possibly install the ICS leak, but I don't really want to root, because I suck at software issues. Do I have to be rooted to install or when I install it, does it root the phone?

If the only thing is I'd have to flash back to .905 for the OTA, I can handle that.

You don't have to be rooted, but if you are uncomfortable with RSD then I'd wait for the OTA.
