MMS attachments time setting?

Hi all, I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to. I have the Droid X and it works great, love it. My problem is that when I receive an MMS, it 'plays' too fast and I cannot seem to stop it and view it. I downloaded "handcent" and that helped, but I still have the problem more often than not.. Is there a way to fix this, or something in the settings I have not found?
I cannot tap and pause, it ignores me when I do for some reason.
