Maxx arrived!

So far mostly so good. VZW's cloud app won't restore my photos they are all there, there just isn't a way to restore them. Guess I can mail then to myself.

How do I get rid of that hideous Google search bar on the screen? I disabled the app but the grey area stil stays. It would be a real shame to ruin a great phone with that crappy thing.

No that won't work. I have a feeling it's not doable.

If the box was more transparent it would be less objectionable.

I bought one of the ghost wireless chargers... pretty cool. I figure between the Maxx's much larger battery and the wireless charging I should be about to eliminate about 75% of the plug in charging that killed the connector on my RAZR.

Go into apps, disable google search..that's what I did..

I tried that... it went away but the gray box stayed and I could not get rid of it

Can you post a screenshot so we can see please?

I disabled it and got the gray translucent box. I went in and cleared the cache and data on the app, did a force stop and then did a reboot and it was gone. So ONE of those things made it go away.

Oh OK I didn't try the reboot. Will give it a shot.

The reboot did the trick. Thank you! Now I have a nice clean screen on my Maxx!

I was going to say, I'm pretty sure that's just a widget that you can remove like any other.
