Market error

Having issue with market....keep getting" unsuccessful download error" on updates for apps. Any way to fix?

my mother was having the same issues with her mytouch, I had to uninstall the last market update to finally get it to work. I had a problem with the Target app, it was locked saying "installing" and couldn't get it to finish or even stop. After turning the phone off and on, pulling the battery, uninstalling the app, I finally had to "clear data" for the market app to get it to stop
