lock/unlock slider just disappeared

There one day, gone the next. No idea why. Also, I am now getting some random reboots, the home page on the multi-media docking station does not come on when docked etc.

Thoughts?

Are you rooted? Have you flashed any theme lately? Any new kernel? More info?

Not sure about rooted. I don't think so. How would I find out?

No new themes. Just changed the wallpaper, which I do.. a lot.

are you sure its gone how does that happen??

when you click the unlock/lock button on top it just goes to a screen without the sliders??

Yup, just goes to the home page screen. No sliders. The only thing that happened recently was that I accidentally deleted the Google search bar and had to recover it. Did so with no problems. I now also find that when I use the little home screen button (the one of four at the bottom) it does not respond either.

Ah, this is confusing. I would have a clue if you were rooted, but you are surely not.

Did you maybe install any new launcher or lock screen app from the market?

Nope, no new launcher or screen lock app.

Did you try rebooting?

Forgot you were getting random reboots, but if rebooting doesnt work, then maybe someone can explain to you have to do a hard factory reset.

I did a factory reboot. I lost my ring as well.

this happened to me a few times, basically everything you said. it's just the phones poor operating system. reset worked, but resetting usually fixing the old problem but creates a new one, i never understand it

I have the same problem except my slider was replaced with the pattern unlock screen and I havent set any pattern I just touch the screen and it goes to my home page , I have changed my launcher to launcherpro from Zeam and I am not rooted .

This just happened to my wife's non-rooted Droid.. The home and search button do not work, and there is no slider lock screen. When the lock button on top is pushed, it turns the screen off as it is locking it, Once you press it again to get the slider, There is her home screen.. No lock slider

i got this problem too ... (BB 0.5) it's suddenly disappeared
when i long press power button, there's only power off option (usually you got airplane mode and silent option too)
