A new image was leaked just after the official Galaxy S8 and S8+ announcement showing an S8+ prototype with a dual camera setup. Samsung is known for making several different prototype units before settling on a final design. The particular unit in the photos has a dual lens camera and no fingerprint scanner on the rear. We known that Samsung was also working on embedding the fingerprint scanner in the front glass on the S8 so that may be where the fingerprint scanner lies on this phone.

The model number on the prototype is clearly shown as SMG955F. We all known by now that Samsung stuck with the same camera in the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge for the S8 and S8+ and they moved the fingerprint scanner to the right side of the camera on the back of the phone. We may possibly see this dual lens setup and the embedded fingerprint scanner on the Note 8. If Samsung was already working on these technologies leading up to the S8 they will surely have enough time to perfect them leading up to the launch of the Note 8. Would the Galaxy S8 have been a more appealing device if it would have included the embedded fingerprint scanner on the front and an updated dual lens camera on the back?
