I know, being that chrome works off the bat, that tells me that this kexec thing is no joke
If I install SS2, and the CM9 ROM, then flash back to a more stable ROM, for everyday use, will I still be able to use Chrome or is that ROM related & not kernel related?

It currently only works on the kexec CM9. Chrome only runs in ICS and requires drivers which can only be compiled for the 3.0.8 kexec kernel. It won't work on any other rom at the moment.

Regarding safestrap 2.0, can I install this over my current version of safestrap?

We wipe when installing a rom, so its not in the app drawer, but does installing this version overwrite the current recovery?

I only installed version 2.0 on a another droid 3 that was freshly rooted.

Uninstall any previous safestrap, then install 2.0.

a note from hash

Data isn't going to work well (if at all) in the current ROM. I'm putting together a new one as time permits. (I'm out of town for those that didn't know).

Also, I apologize for putting a password on the testroms folder. Unfortunately, there are ROMs in there that are unhealthy for the phone.

A note about the current ROM: the modem cycles endlessly. Please do not use this ROM for any extended amount of time.

When they start building JB ROMs for the D3, yes.

Ok, so boot into non safe (that's where safestrap is in app drawer), uninstall safestrap recovery, install ss 2.0 and im good to go?

All my backups should still be intact, correct?

Haha. I installed ss2.0 over 1.08. I feel ignant but everything worked fine. Reverted back to my daily driver with ease. Haven't tried a 1.08 backup with 2.0 tho.

So wait small tangent, I have safe system on all the time. And occasionally edit my system apps like mobile defense or adw.ex without turning off safe system. I even uninstall the stock launcher or authenticators. Isn't this supposed to be forbiddon?

Just got a 512mb ducati binary from Texas Instruments. I'll be working on the new kernel tonight for Kindle Fire and the Droids. -- Hashcode (@Hashcode0f)
