juice pack question

I tried searching but can't find an answer. Looked at getting a Samsung 3 and they showed me the juice pack. How good of protection fires this offer? I tend to use Otterbox, but this looked pretty neat.

While I haven't owned any of the Morphie Juice Packs myself, friends of mine who have owned them appreciate the extra battery life, but have found the overall feel, fit, and finish to be lacking. They seem like they offer decent protection on the back side, but not much for the front compared to an Otterbox. I personally didn't care for it given the bulk and cost. If battery life is important, I'd rather buy some spare batteries. And if protection is important, an Otterbox (or a similar case that's more rugged) would be the way to go.

Hopefully someone else how has had a longer experience than just holding one for a short time can chime in.
