I currently have it set to 800Mhz maximum, scaling.

The kernel I used is at:

P3Droid Kernels

No Custom ROM. So just installed the kernel on top of my rooted 2.1.

Now, after a day, I feel no significant increase in speed at 800 Mhz Max. Is it ok to go to 900 or even 1000?

I have the profile set so that when it's sleeping its 250 Mhz.

Also, with this setup, can I still go back to my stock 2.1 with the ORIGINAL kernel by restoring my nandroid backup (created right after I rooted, but before installing the new kernel) from SPRecovery?

I went straight to 1000Mhz right after rooting and installing an overclocking kernal. Ran that way for about 2 weeks and then went and tried 1200Mhz.....no luck with that as it would reboot after running for a few minutes. Dropped it to 1100Mhz and it's been running fine for a month at least....

i go between 800 and 1000 and have absolutely no problems. it actually seems to run cooler at 1000.

i believe you should be able to go back with no problem.

Ok. Cool.

What other cool things I can do with a rooted phone? I already got the Wifi tether.

yea I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. I used to run at 800 for a while, now i run at 1000 and have noticed no adverse effects at all. And I've also noticed a fairly significant increase in performance relative to 800.

I tried 1300 after running 1100 for what seems like a long time. Tried it just to see how it was. Had the same issue with rebooting. After 4 of those I held in the X key and nandroid restored. I tried 800 for a week or so at first, and also saw no real difference.

moral: make backups and you can use backups when things go south.

i like cereal killer's set cpu settings:

Min 250Mhz - Max 1,200Mhz with ondemand (Advanced: 62500, 70, 0, 70)
Charge: Min 250 -Max 600
Sleep/Standby: Min 250 - Max 250
power < 41% Min 250-Max 600
Power: <31% Min 250 - Max 250
Failsafe: >46.4c (114F) Min 250 - Max 500

I run at 1.1GHz while connected to the outlet. Otherwise I use the stock speed for better battery life. Also from my experience using a low voltage kernel will help lower the temps :)

Oh cool I missed that post (or maybe I just forgot about it lol). How is your battery life? I normally can get 1D6Hrs with light-moderate usage running at 550MHz although it does get laggy sometimes.
