I have the latest Insteon starter kit (Look it up, its Neato :)

SmartLinc - INSTEON Wire-In Starter Kit - Smarthome

Its an awesome little home automation starter kit that controls select lights remotely through its browser interface.

I'm sure others here have this device or similar PLC controllers.

Someone has made a killer App for this device for the iPhone. I have used it & it works perfect.

No one has yet to make an Insteon App for Android. I can only access this helpful device through the browser based interface it offers. Sadly, it is painfully slow, & often just "times out" trying to establish connection. However, remote access AWAY from home, using a computer over the internet works great. NOT so well on the various Droid browsers (Yes, I have tried most of the OTHER major browsers out there, all of them are equal in slowness & failure). It may be just a tiny bit quicker when my phone is on wifi on my own network, but it is still slow, & frankly, If I want REMOTE lighting access/control, it wouldnt be when i'm @ home in the same house.

So... What would it take for someone to whip up an App for this device? I suppose public demand & time/money. (Insteon/Smarthome says that a third party developer made the Apple App. I'm SURE the Droid Dev. community could do better that an Apple guy could :)

Well, I am seriously interested in having an App for Insteon developed, but have neither the know-how or time to work on it.

I would happily BUY a smooth, fast running App for this product for my D1, I'm also sure many others would pay for this as well.

Hope I have posted this General Request/App Wish in the appropriate forum.

Any thoughts, questions please reply. Thanx in advance. Dan

There are more options for App control w/Insteon's more expensive products, but all I have is the controller that comes w/their starter kit I link to above.

anything new on this front in the last few months?

Just received my second module from smarthome this week. There are a few x-10 modules around the house, but I have never been able to find a bad signal sucker someplace on my b phase.
