You are doomed either way, if you remove it, you would have to remove the "Void" sticker, which voids your warranty.

The entire back plate would have to come off. There was a guy on XDA that took his apart to replace the digitizer. Might talk to him. Here is the link. Anyone want to see the inside of a thunderbolt? - xda-developers

Also, if you drill holes, more than likely the coating they used on the kickstand will begin to peel, some have already had this issue just from opening/closing it. Chrome coming off/peeling off kickstand - xda-developers

It would be interesting to see if it is louder with out the kick stand. I think it is designed to bounce the audio off the kickstand redirecting the sound towards the front of the device. It's meant to be that way. Same goes for most speakers facing the back of the phone. Sound bouncing off your hand seems louder than sound pointed to the ground. (unless its laying on the ground) back to the redirection of sound.

Maybe a decible test between the 2 senarios would be interesting enough for a T-Bold user to test it out. For the sake of NOT DRILLING HOLES IN YOUR NEW DEVICE. Mucho $$$$

How long have you had your phone, if you still within your 14 days you can get the incredible 2. It has the same basic specs and it do not come with a kickstand.
