I have several items such as news links, weather and phone numbers that were placed on the home screen some time ago.

Now, I am not able to create and add links to the home screen.

How does one add links and Contact phone numbers to the home screen?

    TIA… Bill

For a web link, open Chrome > website you want a shortcut for > 3 dot menu > Add To Homescreen > give it a name and click Add.

For the Contacts I think the Moto X has this option. Long press your screen and select Widgets > find Contacts 1 X 1 and tap it > select the Contact you want to assign and a shortcut icon will be placed on your homescreen.

Sajo, thank you for your response. I did more investigation.

There is now an option on my Chrome Menu to "Install web app." While I don't exactly recall the precise wording, earlier there was an option to "add to home screen." Similar situation with Contacts. Selecting the "install..." does place the items on the home screen.

    Regards
