1) From Bionic, Download below link
1.5) Using "Files" app on your Bionic transfer from "downloads" dir to root dir of SD card (top level of card). Do NOT rename.
2) Check for updates in Settings, About Phone, System Updates
3) Ding Ding. Found new update.

Enjoy.

Not really sure why Motorola and Verizon need 30-60 days to test. Everything seems to be perfect. Love my Bionic!

Sounds great!
How many owners have given this a go?

Not working, need rename?

I presume it needs to be changed to "update.zip" (without the quote marks), but I want to be sure.

Don't rename it. Just make sure it's in the root dir of sd card (top most level). So, use your "Files" app (which every bionic has) and move it from "downloads" to the root of SD card.

Okay, yeah 5.5.893.

Once file is in root dir (don't rename), just check for update.

Mine grabbed it on the first try.

Few more confirmations?

Same here. While I'm not afraid of doing this (that's how I got Froyo on my OG Droid), so far one unrooted (the OP) and one rooted has had success. I hope it works.

No more buzz! and gone are the 3G/4G/wifi hunting issues. I'm sure it fixes everything on that list floating around. It also seems faster. (like a newly waxed car, lol).
