Help with ringtones

This is my first smartphone and I'm about to lose my grip!! I have figured pretty much everything out but one thing. My main ringtone for the phone keeps overriding the individual ones that I set up in my contact list. What am I doing wrong?

What did you use to set up the individual ring tones? The phone system or a seperate app like zedge?

i used zedge

when you save the ringtones in zedge, go back to the ringtones on the phone and when it prompts system or zedge, select system and see if they are in that menu, i would recommend using the stock selector.
