Ok. I have taken all of my system/app files and transferred them to my computer. I then extracted the original system app files onto that folder with no success. I still have the same error.

I have never used the sbf method. How does this work?

Its no problem make sure you one do a wipe data and cache from recovery first. And install your drivers with the usb debugging mode off then turn it back on after they are installed.

Haha, I hope I don't. I was working last night and ended up not being able to complete it. I'm actually working on it right now.

I'm a little lost on one point though.

I have downloaded the SBF file, the RSD Lite, the updated driver to my computer (64 bit).

I have my phone in PC mode with USB debug on. I have found the SBF file with the RSD program, and it's showing the device down below but I don't have the option to start. When I turn my phone off and into recovery mode, the device is no longer shown. The RSD instructions are meant for D1 or possibly D2 in which he describes using the physical keyboard.

How do I proceed? I really do appreciate your help...

***EDIT: Disregard, I went into recovery instead of bootloader.

Ok, I'm still having the same basic problem.

I have installed the updated driver, RSD Lite and the SBF file.

I am in bootloader, RSD is showing my device as connected, I have the SBF file selected but I can not start it.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Btw, just to clarify, the status in bootloader says...

That I am ok to program, transfer mode:USB.

The instructions I'm following in concert with the link you provided are...

Windows Instructions:

  1. Download RSD Lite (credit to MyDroidWorld)
  2. Install the RSDLite 4.7 program by double clicking on the program.
  3. Move the pst_flash.ini file into the following folder --> Program Files/Motorola/RSDLite
  4. Install the drivers that apply to your Operating System.
  5. Unzip the SBF into a folder. (Download Above)
  6. Open RSD Lite and find the UNZIPPED SBF
  7. Put your Motorola Droid X into bootloader. (turn phone off and hold volume down and the camera button while pressing the power button)
  8. Click start and sit back.
Note: after the flash will need to boot into recovery (hold volume down and the home button) and wipe data and cache.

I can verify that I do have the .sbf file selected in RSD and that my phone is showing up in the model listing.

What version of RSD are you using the 4.7? Did you copy that file in the root of the RSD program?

I'm running the lastest, 4.7 version. I went in, as the instructions said, copied the pst_flash.ini file and pasted it (replaced the original one) in the RSD Lite folder under Motorola.

I tried reinstalling the program, even left the original .ini file in there and kept both files in the folder....nothing. I finally just replaced it with the one instructed to replace.

I downloaded the SBF file from rootzwiki.com, unzipped it, and am picking up the .sbf file in the RSD program. I'm selecting it, showing that my DX is connected in the model listing below, but I don't have the option to start the .sbf in bootloader. It's grayed out.

I'm not sure where to go from here.

Are you running RSD as administrator?

Yeah if you are using Vista right click the rsd shortcut under programs and hit run as administrator or if that option isn't there, go into properties and compatibility and hit run as administrator.
