Help!! Error with playing recorded video file

So I was recording the shuttle launch this past weekend when all of a sudden I got the "low battery" notification right as the shuttle disappeared into the clouds. I went to watch that video and I received an error saying "sorry, this video cannot be played". I downloaded the file to the computer and tried opening it then and got another error with quicktime saying "error 2048, could not open file because it is not a file QT understands". I tried opening with other various players and still had no luck.

Is there ANY way I can recover this file???
