My name is John and I am a nerd. I and my wife (yeah, a nerd with a a wife) bought LG Ally phones awhile ago, and have only had a few small issues. But now it's these few, small issues that are keeping me awake at night, so if you see a post from me, remember, I am sleep depraved so don't mess with me.

I get no notifications with facebook app. I didn't have them before the 2.2 update, did for while after the update, and now they are gone

From any home screen: Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/All/Facebook app/Clear defaults/clear data.

I assume, since I don't use Facebook, that you will have to re-enter your account info.

Yeah I did that. I also uninstalled the updates and reinstalled and no go...
