HDMI Connection Issues

Everytime i turn my phone on it automatically believes it is connected to an HDMI cord even thought automatic detection is turned off. I have to go to Display, enable detection, then disable detection to put it back to normal. I've used compressed air to clean out the port but it does not help. Suggestions?

The problem started occurring before jelly bean and before my last reset

I am having the ame issue with my phone. Vzw customer service thinks it is hardware related. I have not resolved this issue yet, so let me know if you found a solution.

I had this problem. the port where you plug in the power and HDMI is loose. I think mine came from a weird off brand car charger. I had to send it in to Motorola for repair. if your phone is still under warranty it is free. if not its $160. I have the problem again and I'm no longer covered by warranty.
