Google's Bouncer Will Keep You Safe

    This next bit of News should put many of the Android security minded folks at ease. Google has developed and has been using a service that it calls Bouncer to sweep through the Market for potentially malicious software. It scans new applications, applications already in the Market, and developer accounts for known malware, spyware, trojans and for apps that may be misbehaving. Bouncer has claimed many lives and Google says "between the first and second halves of 2011, we saw a 40% decrease in the number of potentially-malicious downloads from Android Market." The system is far from perfect, and Google admits to that, but it's comforting to know they are working to keep the ecosystem safe while it remains open.
