Is Gmail an app that I shouldn't have backed up in TIBU and I ask because on several ROMs I flashing don't receive notifications from gmail

Make sure you have Gmail sync clicked in Settings>Accounts>then click the Gmail account that your not receiving notifications from.

No all that's been done, its only on certain custom ROMs that it happens

How about SBF'ing the phone to stock and starting over with root and roms all new? I would give that a shot and try to resolve the problem that way.

Nah lol I'm burnt out on SBFing right now, I'm good on shuji 2.2
It was just something I was wondering as it won't work on some, works ok on CM7 also
