i have reinstalled the app and i have turned off syncing. i even went on my laptop and made sure that i didn't have some email that was "stuck" causing this. no matter what i do, i can't get it to stop loading conversations which means i can't access Gmail from my phone. also, i do have the newest version of Gmail. this happened before the update.
