Gmail update & system apps

Yeah like I said I am not entirely certain it works that way but it seems that is what it does. I actually just double checked and the .bak doesn't delete itself but I deleted it and didn't lose anything.

Just flash my mod. It removes Market-accessible apps from the system/app folder. Case closed.

You know an easier way to do all this would be to use titanium backup :)

That's what I do. Use Titanium Backup to make backup (in case something goes wrong), then use Titanium Backup to remove Gmail, then reboot, and then download the new version from the market.
