Gmail,groups, handscent help please

Hello
I am wanting to organize my contacts for my X. How do I export all my contacts to gmail. The only one that are there are the ones I added after I got my phone. How do I get my other contacts over to gmail. Or is there a way of.using handscent alone to setup groups.

I hope that makes sense.

If your contacts are in your phone they should already be automatically synchronized with Gmail. Login on your computer to find out.

Settings > Accounts & Sync > Gmail > Sync Contacts > Sync Now

I tried the resyncing no go. Kinda frustrating. Any other suggestions.

How were your contacts entered from the get go?
If vzw moved them from another phone, they are in gmail (or contacts) on the web, under "other contacts" or something of that sort. If you move them out of there and into the main contacts area you should be good.
