I agree with GMs reason for no longer advertising with facebook, in that they say no one actually clicks on ads.

I personally avoid clicking on any ad for the same reasons I avoid porn sites. If I find a particularly compelling ad, I'll open a new tab and google it rather than click on the ad.

Does anyone actually click on ads?

I only clicked on one ad ever. And that is because I really liked this. It's a bracelet made of paracord and proceeds go to Wounded Warriors. I'm going to order one soon.

If you think about GM specifically, I suspect a recent study that revealed a decline in automobile ownership in the younger age demographics may have played a role. The older groups are unlikely to make a car purchase decision on guerrilla ads anyway, IMO.
