This never happened before I rooted:
1) I rooted using these instructions:

which installed SPRecovery as well as http://www.mediafire.com/file/kjm5nzcgmmu/20100429h_update.zip.
2) Then I installed this kernel on top of my rooted droid using SPRecovery (No fancy ROM):
http://www.p3designs.info/kernels/1000_LV_Wi_USB_Tether.zip
And using setCPU I set it to 250-800Mhz.
And now, every once in while, my droid will not wake up when I hit the power button, instead I have to pull the battery out and have it restart. Happens once every 2 days on average.
The apps I have running are:
Apollo Task Killer
Beautiful Widget
Google Weather News Widget
BatteryTime Lite
RingGuardService
HTC Keyboard
SetCPU
I would return to stock but I need the wifi tether.
