    Yes - that's what G.Y. is telling you. They do and they will keep doing this. D3 sports the same "feature".

    Well, no questions asked but still $100, right!

    Also, are you sure that it was the FCC. I just checked again on my daughter's HTC Incredible II. Putting in a TalkMobile (UK) SIM, I can make calls (in this case on TMobile but at other times on AT&T). The same SIM simply gets No Service on my D2G (although it shows T-Mobile/TalkMobile on the lock screen!)

    So why one FCC rule for the Droid 2G and another for the Incredible II?

    Hello,

    I have the same problem with Motorola Droid 2 Global. I bought it on ebay and the phone was sent to Peru. I inserted my carrier SIM card and show me the message "SIM network unlock PIN" so I bought an unlock code from Carrierunlock.com but the code never worked.

    Why didn't the code work? and what should I do in that case?

    Thanks in advance.

    I hate to bring the bad news to you, but if you can't get the seller obtain the codes for you from Verizon, you will be stuck with a nice PDA.
    What happened is Verizon altered the unlock codes of some D2g's so only they know the right code. They will provide the code free of charge, but certain criteria must be met. Since you are not Verizon client with a postpaid account with a good account standing for at least 6 months, you are not eligible.
    If the ebay seller refuses to cooperate, you can dispute the transaction if it was stated phone comes unlocked. If you can return it, buy another one, but make sure you pick one that states is SIM unlocked for networks outside USA. Or better get Milestone 2 that is good for your region.
    Good luck!

    Motorola Droid 2 Global

    I bought my D2G from amazon. it was still locked and I bought unlock code from the following and it worked.
    [h=3]TheUnlockShack.com [/h]
    called Verizon when I was in NYC in April they said I have to have plan that cost $70 a month to cover $40 for the phone and $30 for the data plan. that was the cheapest and I have to have it active for 60 days before they can give me the unlock code. that would turn into almost $200 with activation charge. instead I paid less than $( US dollars and it worked first time.
    Good Luck
