okay, so ever since i tried a ROM earlier, ive had this problem when i went back to 2.1 using nandroid. when i go to update an app, it just says starting download and never changes, its really frustrating especially since the app is launcherpro >_<
    example:

I have this issue periodically too. I thought it had to do with my current ROM, but now I think the problem is on the actual market's end. Eventually the apps will download whether you just let it sit on "starting download..." or if you cancel the download and retry it minutes/hours/days later...

I've had this issue myself for the last....week. I've tried clearing the cache for the Market, I've tried the "uninstall update" button for the Market, stopping the download and starting it again, toggling WiFi on and back off, toggling airplane mode on and off, turning the phone off and on, pulling the battery..... nothing has worked.

Rooted Moto Droid running 2.1. I really don't want to do a factory reset, as I haven't run a backup in a while :\

Edit: Something I just noticed.... when attempting to download a new application, the download icon doesn't appear at the top, nor does the screen flip to the Downloads screen.

Also, 12 gig free on SDCard, 122 MB free on phone storage.

2.1 rooted with a p3 kernel, would you think reverting from a 2.2 rom would have any effect on this?

Well don't reset nothing changes and you can't set your phone up again. Tried logging in/out of chat, reset taking battery out while phone on, reboot pressing x while turning on then holding camera button while pressing up button, clearing data and cache, waiting............and factory reset and nothing. Called my carrier, talked to Motorola and of course no Google support, even went as far as calling the Seattle office to lodge a complaint (a lot of good that did me)........and sent complaint to Google. also talked to seller who I purchased a bunch of stuff from and nothing. Verizon says, nothing official mind you, that the froyo 2.2 update is supposed to be some time in August but they are so slow to roll stuff out that could be a farce and it could be another couple of months..........not rooted Droid so I'm now stuck not being able to put anything back on my phone. Have back up applications but should have backed up online as these apps have the ability to do so. Does me no good to have things backed up on SD.
