I got grandfatherd unlimited, but this isnt actually about data plans...

Did anyone else notice their old device maintaining service? My OG droid still has data ( and appears to have voice, tho I havent made a call to check) and Ive had my new phone for a couple hours now.:blink:

Don't know about the data part, but you'll never fully lose voice. All cell phones, activated or not, must be able to call 911 due to some federal law. You can usually get customer service too, but that's it.

Yea, my OG lost service by the next morning, I figure just had to wait for the cell phone equiivilent of the DHCP lease to expire.

You can still latch on to nearby Wifi networks and treat it like a "DroidPod Touch" so to speak.

I too got the unlimited one of my og droids had 3g data for 48 hours and my wifes razr receives 50 text from verizon and day and they jusy say random numbers.
