I have a droid incredible and can't seem to set up my personal email accounts. I keeps giving me an error msg that it can't verify the account.

Is this Google acct, or something else? For non-google accts u gotta use Exchange Active Sync, I believe. Make sure u have IMAP access to that accts instead of POP3. If u can't find the answer, just go to your provider's site and use a faq
