Desperately need help, stuck in SPRecovery

So I was using sholes app for rooting, all went well, rooted, went into SPRecovery and was at the step

Decompressing ROM...

Was at this step for 40 minutes or so and was told this was definitely not normal, so I had to battery pull.

Now I get stuck on a few steps before that at

Attempting Nandroid backup...
Dumping system.tar

And it only loads a bit more than halfway and freezes there, before it passed that and the next step and that's when it was on Decompressing forever, but now it won't even get passed this step...


Help please. There seems to be NOBODY in the other topic to help.

take your SD card out, load a rom on it without the droid, put it back in the droid, boot into recovery, boot that new ROM.

that should work. and use the bugless beast version 7.4. awesome rom.

As in something like bugless beast, or an update.zip from the unroot guide?

yes put the bugless beast 7.4 update.zip on your SD card and then install that from the recovery screen.

Ok, one last question..

What should I delete off my card before putting bugless beast on?

sholesmod tar
sholesmod tgz
update.zip
nandroid folder

You should delete or rename any other update.zip files before you move the bb 7.4 update.zip onto your sdcard

I don't know why but I tried Bugless Beast twice (each time a fresh nandroid backup), but for whatever reason the browser had weird overlapping glitches each time on me. Hopefully it works for you, but if not you should give Smoked Glass v4.0 a shot. For me it did wonders.
