I can't find the option to turn animations off in ICS... I can't believe they would leave that out. Animations are so annoying and my OG always felt so much snappier with them off. I'd really like to get rid of them in my Nexus...

Yep, look under Developer options! I was soooo happy to find it there! I hate the animations.

Oh, that is much better! Cant believe I missed that. I still have the animation on the app drawer, but everything else is off, Yay!

I read if you turn it off it helps stop the data drops.

what does the window and transition animations do?

Will it make the battery last longer if I turn them off?

I think the impact would be very minimal. It does use extra CPU horsepower for the animation, but you're talking seconds over the course of a day. The difference it makes would be in perceived lag, as some of that is actually the animation just taking time to run but you're also waiting a hair for the CPU to process it. Not sure how noticeable the difference would be, but probably noticeable in some cases.
