Auto-Update of Stock Applications?

So, I've noticed in the marketplace that numerous Apps that were pre-installed on my phone, such as YouTube and GMail, have updates available.
Does my phone automatically update these? Or do I have to delete them and then install them from the marketplace in order to take full advantage of the updates?

Thanks!

Just download and install them from the market. They'll overwrite the stock apps with the newer version.

Well, that was prophetic. I ended up with the new marketplace somehow, which automatically syncs your stock apps the same way it would sync aftermarket/downloaded ones.

...except for the calendar, which isn't on the marketplace. What gives?

I don't think there's a way. Personally, I don't think it needs an update. It works fine for me. Ill try looking for it on the market though. If I find it ill post Back.
