Have new HTC Incredible. Can directly connect to gmail acct. Can't connect to email on att.net . Several Verizon stores say I need SMTP in and out that they don't have. But so many people use att.net for email there must be more to story. ATT seems to be pleasant but no help. Any ideas?

try these:

pop: pop.att.yahoo.com
smtp: smtp.att.yahoo.com

and then click Use an encrypted connection (SSL)
change the SMTP port to 465.
change the POP3 port to 995

If not, just forward your att email to gmail. It will then be push. I did this for my business partner and it works great. You can even set gmail to make it look like all sent email is from your att account.

Thanks for the suggested server address for in and out. I got the same from att after hours and hours on the phone. Unfortunately, did now work. Have spent more hours on phone with Verizon help desk and now htc help desk. Still no luck.
