Anyone else experience a delay for 3G? --->

I don't think it's a ROM issue, but could be wrong. I notice that when I hit the power button to wake up the phone (noticing 1-4 bars but no 1x or 3G icon), unlock the screen, swipe to another screen, click on FB (or say Foursquare), the app opens but there's no connection. I've got to wait still more before the 3 icon shows at which point everything flies.

Anyone know maybe how to get this to not have a delay? No that I'm typing this, I'm wondering if it's JD. Hmmmm.....
