I can not get the OTA update to install. Keeps failing with error code 7. I'm rooted, there are some patches, boot loader unlocked and mod cwm recovery installed. Is the update necessary and if so is there a download for it other than from device so I can use RSD to flash it on my device?

I think you have to unroot to get the update. I'd check into the possibility of re-rooting again before you take the update.

you can use voodoo to protect root and unroot (still may get lost), also cwm can cause it to fail, you may want to take it off, update, then put it back.
