3g all bars and no data!?

So yesterday my thunderbolt started having issues connecting to a data network and now it wont at all even though I have all of my bars and the 3=service symbol, but late last night I wasn't able to connect with my unrooted d2 but its working fine today. So im not sure if its a verizon outage in my area or what butmy bolt is rooted. Should I try flashing another radio? Im just confused cuz it says I should data...

Not really a permanent fix, but this happens to me and I just turned off the mobile network and then turned it right back on and it worked fine.

Maybe a battery pull might resolve the issue?
