What is this 2.2.1 update for other droids? Is it from android or motorola because I see on the pics it says android version 2.2.1. Will the droid 2 get this?

Most of the roms are using the 2.2.1 I think. I know fission is based on this one. Think squidly's ew one may be as well. It's not a noticeable difference in any aspect other than versio.

I was under the impression that the last update we had (2.3) was only a version update, and not an android update.
