Help!

If there is anyone out there who has successfully rooted their ZTE Compel... Please help a girl out! I'm becoming evermore frustrated with the phone, as it's impossible to personalize; Especially when you don't even have enough space to update the ridiculous (preinstalled) bloatware. Oh!!- & let's not forget that you aren't able to move your apps (or anything at that) to your SD card... Which, at the moment, may as well not even exist!

Something's got to give. To Root or To Return! THAT is the final question!

Welcome to the forum

Moving apps has it's pluses and minuses but you can certainly store media on the micoSD. What root methods have you tried, Towelroot by chance?

Towelroot is a one click. It's okay... It's frustrating, Lol.

Welcome to the forum!
If you can't find a root method that works, there are still lots of ways to customize your phone and get rid of bloat. You can go into application manager and disable the majority of your bloat, then go into your app drawer settings and hide the apps you won't be using. Install a third party launcher like Apex, Nova, Next, Go, etc and let the fun begin.
Good luck!

I've done this but thank you anyway. The phones memory takes up almost all of the device and the bloatware... The other half... Even disabling hardly gets me anywhere... Id like to be able to download what I please.

Having a mid range device you have to expect some limitations, especially with only 4gb overall storage. Out of that there is only 1.2gb available for you to use. That's not much to work with to begin with, even if you were able to remove all the bloat. My advice to you would be to get the largest sd card you can get (which is 32gb for this device) and default everything you can to it. Pictures, music, etc.
Hopefully someone will release a good root method for this device.

Or someone on here helps her find her way to a higher end phone...something that isn't so short on storage.

CR6- I have the SD card.. Apparently no matter what you, you can't save anything to this card. ZTE hasn't released the update.

FoxKat- I had an extremely nice phone that was stolen... And after fighting with AT&T and their replacements... I just went and bought my own.

I question that. When you say anything, if you are having problems storing media there then there is some other problem going on. I use a mail client that even allows me to store the mail data on microSD which is a rarity. I'm on 4.2.2. Is it possible your SD card isn't working correctly?.
