Try the alternate port #s in Takeshi's post. I have two devices...one works with 993/465, the other only with 143/587. Go figure!

$20 upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus to push email to your Gmail account is well worth it. Make the switch to Gmail. You won't regret it.

Got mine working
My settings are:

Incoming server-
IMAP server:android.imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port:993 Security Type:SSL

Outgoing server-
SMTP server:android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port:587
Security:None
Require sign in

Works just fine now.

Thank you however the outgoing port was default 587. 597 did not work for me.

I changed it. It shoulda been 587 from the start. Don't know how that happened. Typo-*facepalm*
