Yahoo contacts

I use the stock yahoo app that came installed under accounts. It works great but I can't find any of my contacts when I compose a new e-mail. Is there something I need to do to show my yahoo e-mail contacts?

Do I maybe have to transfer my contacts from yahoo to gmail? I have one gmail contact and that's the only one that shows up when I compose an e-mail and click on contacts.

I figured it out. I need to export my yahoo contacts into my gmail account.

I guess the other question would be, why does the yahoo mail app that came installed on the phone only look at contacts in the g-mail account? Hopefully someone can help me better understand this.
